Somersloops: output amplification and power
Somersloops are the alien artifacts found around the map. Slotted into a production building, they amplify it: every filled slot adds its share, and a full set doubles what the building makes from the same inputs. Amplification is unlocked by the Production Amplifier research in the MAM.
The catch is power. It rises with the square of the boost: half the slots filled gives 1.5 times the output for 2.25 times the power, and a full set gives twice the output for four times the power.
Somersloops also pay for research and for the Alien Power Augmenter, so each one counts. In the planner, the machine inspector and Auto place put them where they save the most.
