World resource limits and map planning
Every node on the map added up: the most of each resource the world can give per minute, with every node mined by the best extractor at full overclock. Water is the only resource with no limit.
The planner uses these limits when you leave a resource’s cap empty. It also treats scarce resources as more expensive when it chooses recipes, so a plan leans on iron and limestone before uranium or SAM.
These are the planner’s configured extraction limits for the default resource distribution, using the best extractors at full overclock. Randomized resources or custom purity settings can differ. They are extraction ceilings before recipe conversion, not a promise that an individual transport route can carry the total.
Default world extraction limits
Water has no finite world cap in the planner. Each extractor and pipeline still has its own capacity.
| Resource | World limit per minute | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Water | Unlimited | m³/min |
| Iron Ore | 92,100 | items/min |
| Limestone | 69,900 | items/min |
| Coal | 42,300 | items/min |
| Copper Ore | 36,900 | items/min |
| Caterium Ore | 15,000 | items/min |
| Raw Quartz | 13,500 | items/min |
| Crude Oil | 12,600 | m³/min |
| Bauxite | 12,300 | items/min |
| Nitrogen Gas | 12,000 | m³/min |
| Sulfur | 10,800 | items/min |
| SAM | 10,200 | items/min |
| Uranium | 2,100 | items/min |
Data discrepancy for Limestone: the extracted map counts give 69,300 items/min with Mk.3 miners at 250% and Mk.6 belts, while the planner's separately maintained world limit is 69,900 items/min. Verify the deposits in your game and set a resource limit if needed before planning at this scale.
